The terrain for yoga in Europe is evolving with many new teachers from diverse backgrounds emerging, living yoga in a
creative, sincere,  life-nurturing and transformative way.  Our courses are intended for  creative, sincere and synthesis-orientated
yoga practitioners and teachers who want to grow and develop consciously, creatively and truthfully through the path of yoga.
There are presently two teacher training courses in progress: one in Waterford and the other in Galway. The next trainings will
begin in Feb 2009.
The asana in the trainings is a combination of Vinyasa (flowing movement synchronized with the breath) and long holdings of
classic postures, influenced primarily but not limited to the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya. The pranayama is largely influenced
by the teachings of the Bihar school of yoga and the Satyananda system. Other influences within the course are Ayurveda,
transpersonal psychology, Tantra, Quantam physics and the bhakti approach of love, surrender and gratitude.
On successful graduation of the course, students are eligible to apply to Yoga Alliance, an internationally recognised body that
guarantees high standards of training, for status of RYT, Recognised Yoga Teacher which will allow them to teach in Ireland and
abroad.
It primarily consists of :

۞  Asana (including how to teach, adjust and apply modifications)
۞  Anatomy and physiology in relation to the asanas
۞  Teaching skills, including aspects such as class planning and sequencing techniques
۞  The practice and teaching of meditation and Pranayama,
۞  Yoga philosophy including the history and wheel of yoga, the eight limbs and the vedas.
۞  Trans-personal psychology and Ayurvedic psychology
۞  Subtle anatomy- the 3 bodies, the 5 sheaths, chakras and nadis
    ۞  Structural Yoga therapy
۞  Ayurvedic yoga therapy- an introduction
    ۞  Chanting
    ۞  Kriyas (internal cleansings).
The role of the teacher
is basically twofold: first,
to arouse the deepest
creative power of life
present within you;
then, to support you as
this power unfolds"
